Canberra Quilters have now been offered ground floor space in Block C in the former Cook Primary School (replacing the original offer of space upstairs in Block B). There are 3 buildings at Cook and Block C is on the right as you drive into the current car park.

The new offering is currently made up of one big room with a teachers 'dog box' office, a smaller room that was the teachers' common room, and small office (maybe once a photocopying room?), a vestibule area which opens onto the corridor - see the plans. We will be involved in further discussions with the architect/designers to determine, at least to some degree, what will be done to make the space useful for us. We have already discussed the removal of the wall between the two main rooms. Canberra Quilters is of course responsible for furnishing the space, although the fit out may include cupboards and bookshelves.

We have already completed a questionnaire specifying, among other things, that we would prefer neutral colours throughout and a vinyl floor (rather than carpet) and that we need lots of power points.

The committee continues to ask for input and ideas from members. If you have ideas please contact one of us as soon as you can - we will be having discussions with the designer soon (probably in the next 2 weeks).
