A statement of women’s lives. Louisa Ellis, my grandmother, was a resourceful, frugal person. She mended all belongings that needed mending. This quilt is stitched in honour of Louisa and similar Australian women who have rarely been recognized for their dedicated work and ingenuity in home-management during the early 1900s.
